Raccoon Cafe in Bucheon, South Korea
This was only our experience, it’s not meant to deter anyone,
this is just what we experienced, and we've had several interesting ones. This is the
same friend I went to Jeju-do with and everything went haywire~ So we simply just tend to have interesting experiences
together. That being said....
Oh… the raccoon café. We were so excited to visit the Raccoon café
in Bucheon… The first thing that hit us when we arrived was...the smell. We got
there early, so not a lot of people. We noticed a cage that held an ill-behaved
chap and doggo, we think to keep them in line. The raccoons, on whole, were ignored by the staff,
until they did something they weren’t supposed to- like get into our bags. We
made our order- Hot chocolate, the both of us (I remember this specifically
because my friend is allergic to caffeine) Why is this important, WELL… we waited
so long for our drinks we debated on leaving before we ever got them- we pretty
much finished them and left.
He made a noise. I stopped touching. |
We were really excited to experience the raccoon café,
but the almost half hour wait time for hot chocolate was a little excessive. While we were waiting for our drinks a raccoon managed to get into my friend’s purse, then my purse. The staff didn’t help us with that, they instead told us not to let them into
our stuff, but this was difficult, because we were also told to be careful. The fluffy lil' creatures really didn’t like to be touched too much.
Yeah… about that. Pulling the trash panda from my
purse wasn’t very easy. I think it took both of us since he wasn’t very
agreeable to leaving my bag. The big fluffy white one eventually acquiesced to a
petting and showed his appreciation by promptly peeing on my friend’s shoe. After
the hastily drank down hot chocolate- which was actually quite good- we absconded in search of a way to hide the
smell of raccoon pee. Thankfully the one piece of advice we got ahead of time
was to bring a spare pair of clothing. We found a lovely public
bathroom to change in. I've since forgotten the name of the establishment but if you go a-visiting raccoons, word of advice- bring a spare pair of clothes.
